Advanced Farming

What Advanced Farming Actually Means

Once you have a few rebirths under your belt, multiple zones unlocked, and a stable of upgraded slimes, the game shifts. You are no longer figuring out what buttons do. You are trying to squeeze the most value out of every minute you spend in-game. That is what this guide covers: the systems, calculations, and habits that separate decent farmers from efficient ones.

All drop rates, zone thresholds, and multiplier values referenced here are based on community testing and observation. Game updates can change these numbers, so treat this guide as a framework rather than a table of exact values.

1. Understanding Kills Per Second (KPS)

KPS is the single most important metric for advanced farming. It measures how many enemies you defeat per second in a given zone, and it directly determines your drops-per-minute rate. Everything else, luck, potions, team composition, feeds into KPS or multiplies its output.

Calculating KPS is straightforward: time yourself killing enemies in a zone for 60 seconds, then divide the total kills by 60. Do this a few times and average the results to account for variance in spawn timing.

Why KPS matters more than raw zone level: a zone with slightly better drops but lower KPS can actually produce worse results than an easier zone you clear quickly. The math is simple. If Zone A gives 5 coins per kill at 2 KPS (600 coins per minute) and Zone B gives 8 coins per kill at 1 KPS (480 coins per minute), Zone A wins despite the lower per-kill payout.

Track your KPS in each zone before committing to a farming route. The Farming Optimizer can help you compare expected value across zones once you know your KPS for each one.

2. The One-Shot Threshold

A special case of KPS optimization is the one-shot threshold. If your team's damage output is high enough to defeat enemies in a single hit, your KPS is limited only by spawn rate and your roll speed. This creates a dramatic efficiency jump because you eliminate the time spent on multi-hit kills.

The one-shot threshold is why some advanced players deliberately farm lower zones. If they can one-shot everything in the Volcano but need three hits per enemy in Ocean Depths, the Volcano run might generate more total value per minute even though the Ocean Depths has a better drop table.

To find your one-shot threshold for a zone:

  1. Check the average enemy HP in that zone (available in the zone info panel).
  2. Compare it to your team's total ATK output per hit.
  3. If your ATK exceeds enemy HP, you have crossed the threshold.
  4. Test in-game by farming the zone for five minutes. If every enemy dies in one hit, you are there.

When you are between thresholds (one-shotting a lower zone but not the next one up), the lower zone is usually the better farm until your ATK improves.

3. Potion Rotation and Stacking

At the advanced level, potion usage shifts from "use when you remember" to a deliberate rotation strategy. The goal is to maintain maximum boost coverage during your farming sessions without wasting overlapping durations.

Basic Stacking

Luck Potions and Speed Potions stack multiplicatively. Using both at the same time is always better than using them separately, assuming you can farm actively during the full duration. A 2x luck and 2x speed combination does not just double your output. It effectively quadruples your rare drop rate per minute because you are rolling twice as fast with twice the luck on each roll.

Rotation Timing

Potions typically last 10 minutes. If you have more potions than you can use in one session, consider a rotation schedule. Farm actively with stacked potions for 10 minutes, then do lower-intensity activities (quests, collection management, team swaps) while you wait for the next potion window. This keeps your potion usage focused on the times when you are actually grinding, not when you are tabbed away.

Event Synergy

When the game runs server-wide events like 2x Luck weekends, that is the time to burn through your potion stockpile. A 2x event combined with a Luck Potion and a Speed Potion creates the highest drop density you can achieve. Save your best items and strongest rebirth multipliers for these windows. Plan your rebirth timing around major events if possible.

4. Team Composition for Farming

Your active slime team determines your combat stats, and different farming goals call for different team setups.

ATK-Focused Teams

For pushing into higher zones or reaching one-shot thresholds, maximize ATK. Load your team with high-ATK slimes, prioritizing Legendary and Epic variants that have been upgraded. The faster you kill, the higher your KPS.

Luck-Focused Teams

When you are farming in a zone you can already one-shot, extra ATK does nothing. Swap to a luck-focused team to improve your rare drop rate. Some slimes provide luck bonuses as a secondary stat, and certain mutations (like Shiny or Rainbow) can further amplify drops.

AFK Farming Teams

If you farm while away from the keyboard, stability matters more than peak performance. Choose a team that can sustain a zone without dying, even if it means running a slightly lower KPS. A team that survives a 30-minute AFK session outperforms a glass cannon that wipes after five minutes.

Mutation Considerations

Mutations like Huge (10x ATK multiplier), Shiny (5x ATK), and Rainbow (25x ATK) can dramatically shift which zones are accessible to you. A Rainbow-mutated Rare slime might hit harder than a base Legendary. Always recalculate your one-shot thresholds after acquiring a new mutation. Check the Mutations page for current multiplier values.

5. Goop and Resource Planning

Goop is a late-game resource used for high-end crafting and upgrades. It typically drops from Legendary-tier slimes and certain high-level zone activities. Because Goop is scarce and valuable, wasting it on suboptimal crafts is a real setback.

Principles for Goop management:

  • Never spend Goop on items you will replace within a few rebirth cycles. Save it for permanent or near-permanent upgrades.
  • Prioritize crafts that increase your KPS or luck, since those compound over time.
  • Track your Goop income rate so you can budget purchases. If you earn 50 Goop per hour, a 500-Goop craft takes 10 focused hours. Plan accordingly.
  • Consider whether a Goop purchase accelerates your next rebirth. If it shortens a recovery cycle by even 30 minutes, it often pays for itself quickly.

6. Zone 20+ Strategy

At the highest zone tiers, the game demands every optimization you have learned. Enemies have massive HP pools, drop rates for top-tier slimes are extremely low, and the cost of mistakes (dying, wasting potions, inefficient routing) is measured in hours of lost farming time.

Key strategies for endgame zones:

  • Verify your one-shot status before committing. Spending an hour in a zone where every kill takes two or three hits is worse than farming a slightly lower zone at one-shot speed.
  • Save Slime Cores for endgame crafts. Slime Cores drop from Legendary slimes and are used for the strongest items in the game. Do not spend them on mid-tier crafts.
  • Use the Farming Optimizer regularly. As your stats change with each rebirth and upgrade, the optimal farming route changes too. Recalculate after every significant power increase.
  • Watch for zone-specific events. Some high-level zones have rotating events that temporarily boost certain drop types. Plan your farming around these when they appear.

7. Tracking and Improving Over Time

The farmers who progress fastest are the ones who track their numbers. Keep a simple log of your KPS in each zone, your coin income per session, and how long each rebirth recovery takes. Patterns emerge quickly, and you will start to see exactly where your time is best spent.

Useful tools for ongoing optimization:

  • Farming Optimizer for comparing zone efficiency based on your current stats.
  • Luck Calculator for understanding how luck bonuses change your actual drop probabilities.
  • Rebirth Planner for timing your next reset to maximize long-term returns.
  • Tier List for evaluating whether a newly acquired slime deserves a team slot.

Advanced farming is not about playing more hours. It is about making the hours you do play count. Every decision, from which zone to farm, to which slime to upgrade, to when to pop a potion, compounds over the life of your account. Build good systems, track your results, and adjust as the game evolves.
